NELSON CABRAL

He was born in Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, in 1973. It debuted at the Theatre in 1994 with the play "Teatr", from Mikhail Boulgakov, staging by António Capelo, in the Teatro Universitário do Porto. He completed in 1997 the Bachelor's Degree in Theatre - Actors branch, in the Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo, Porto. Since then, he has worked in companies such as Teatro da Garagem, Teatro da Cornucópia, Artistas Unidos, Cassefaz, Escola de Mulheres, Seiva Trupe, Chapitô, Among others, as well as in numerous independent projects. Since 2015, he has interpreted the monologue “A Passagem das Horas”, from Fernando Pessoa/ Álvaro de Campos, Debuted in the Teatro Micaelense, in Ponta Delgada. On television it premiered in "A Hora da Liberdade"/ SIC-1999, having since participated in series and soap operas, standing out “Médico de Família”, “Anjo Selvagem”, “Espírito da Lei”, “O Processo dos Távora”, “Ouro Verde”, “Vidas Opostas”, “Jogo Duplo”. More recently he participated in the soap opera "Para Sempre" (Plural/TVI) and in the series "A Teia" - Plural/TVI, "Teorias da Conspiração"- Stopline/ RTP and "Solteira e Boa Rapariga" - Ukbar Filmes/ RTP. He was part of the direction team of actors of the soap opera Amar Demais (Plural/TVI). In cinema he has appearances in "Alabote" by João Botelho and João Garcia, "O Livreiro de Santiago" by José Medeiros and stars in "A Passagem das Horas", a film by Francisco Rosas from Fernando Pessoa/ Álvaro de Campos. He was a screenwriter and director of the film "Cortejar a Ilha", a production of Despe-Te-Que-Suas. As a director, he directed shows with the production of Corda Bamba (Vila do Conde), Grupo de Teatro Muitieramá (Lajes do Pico), ArtePalco Associação, Associação Cultural Despe-Te-Que-Suas (São Miguel, Azores) and INATEL Foundation. On the radio, he conceived and directed "Poem of the day", a daily rubric of poetry on Antena1/ Azores.
