Carla Chambel was born in Amadora in 1976. She holds a degree in Actor's Training from the Superior School of Theatre and Cinema of Lisbon. Carla began her acting career in 1995, appearing in the play "The Dispute" by Marivaux, directed by João Perry, at Teatro da Trindade in Lisbon. Since then, she has worked with various Portuguese theater companies and both Portuguese and foreign film directors. She has had leading roles in films such as "98 Octanas" by Fernando Lopes and "4th Division" by Joaquim Leitão. In 2016, Carla received the Sophia Supporting Role award from the Portuguese Film Academy. Carla is also actively involved in television series, soap operas, movie dubbing, and voice-over work for advertisements. She has served as a coach at several acting schools and workshops. Since 2014, Carla has been the Vice-president of The Portuguese Film Academy and annually produces the Portuguese participation in the EFA Young Audience Award. Additionally, she serves as a jury member at several national cinema festivals, including Sophia Estudante, Indie Lisboa, Caminhos do Cinema Português, FESTin, 48 Film Project Lisboa, and Shortcutz Ovar, among others.
