FRANCISCO MONTEIRO LOPES

Francisco was born in June 2001.

The actor discovered his passion for acting at the age of seven and has remained connected to theatre ever since. At fifteen, he joined the Escola Profissional de Teatro de Cascais (2016–2019), where he received solid professional training in theatre.
Francisco has complemented his education with various acting courses and workshops and he also has training and interest in Ballroom Dance and movement.

With Teatro Experimental de Cascais, he performed in The Dream by August Strindberg (2019), Lulu by Frank Wedekind (2019), Camino Real by Tennessee Williams (2020), and Yerma by Federico García Lorca (2020), all directed by Carlos Avilez; When Jesus Returned to Earth by Armando Martins Janeira, directed by Rodrigo Aleixo (2019); and Beatrix Cenci, written and directed by Graça P. Corrêa (2021).

In 2020, Francisco played the lead in A 20 de Novembro by Lars Norén, directed by Rodrigo Aleixo, which continues to tour nationally and internationally.

He was also cast in Terrorism by the Presnyakov Brothers, directed by Leandro Paulin; The Pain of All Empty Streets, directed by Tiago Vieira; and TITUS, adapted and directed by Rui Neto (2021).

In 2022, he co-produced and performed in El Duende Flamenco and Vou Falar de Ti a Toda a Gente with Teatro Gíria, and co-starred in the short film Três Chaves by Nuno Franco.

In 2023, he performed in FREE (Teatro Gíria) and Wild Flowers, directed by Rui Neto, while beginning his BA at the Fontainebleau School of Acting in France/Greece. Since then, he has toured internationally with A 20 de Novembro in Cape Verde and Brazil.
Over the years he has appeared in several short films and television projects.
Francisco was part of Passaporte '24 (organized by casting director Patrícia Vasconcelos).
Since 2022 the actor has been a founding member and board director of Teatro Gíria.
